Um ataque de pretexting em Engenharia Social é uma tática onde o atacante cria uma história fabricada para enganar o alvo e fazê-lo revelar informações pessoais ou proprietárias sensíveis, enviar dinheiro ou baixar malware. Esse tipo de ataque coloca o alvo em risco de roubo de identidade, fraude financeira e ataques futuros. O atacante pode se passar por alguém que a vítima conhece ou confia, como um colega de trabalho, entregador ou organização governamental, para acessar informações ou sistemas sensíveis.

This type of attack puts the target at risk of identity theft, financial fraud, and future attacks. The attacker may pose as someone the victim knows or trusts, such as a coworker, delivery person, or government organization, to gain access to sensitive information or systems.
